Appreciation Open House

Uplift Community Alliance opened its doors (literally) on Monday, September 28, 2026, for our first Open House and brunch to thank our donors, community partners, and neighbors. It was a fun and information packed event planned by the Marketing and Special Events Committee to thank those who support our organization and get to know those we support better. A video created by the Marketing and Special Events Committee under Kim Shemwell ‘s direction had multiple photos of members in their roles or in the attendance having fun. Committee chairs also shared heartfelt stories of how our organization has impacted their lives. A buffet of upscale comfort food and entertainment from Act III Uplift Band enlivened the event.  

Displays at the Programs Office building showed attendees samples of what our programs provide for those in need. Members were available to answer any questions about the displays and our organization’s outreach. More than one attendee said they didn’t know we did so much. Because Uplift Thrift provides much of our funding, it was also open during the event for tours and shopping.
